Meneghin 5° Edition
The Ambrosiano Tennis Club is now accepting entries for the 5th edition of the MENEGHIN, the open amateur tournament reserved for members. The competition features a ‘Race’ phase comprising virtual groups running from 1 November 2026 to 28 March 2027, with self-organised matches and scores adjusted according to the ranking gap. The top 8 players in the rankings will qualify for the Final Masters, a knockout tournament taking place on 17 and 18 April 2027. Participation is completely free of charge: new members can register by joining the dedicated WhatsApp group and sending their first name, surname and mobile number.

THE NEW SEASON KICKS OFF AT THE AMBROSIANO TENNIS CLUB
The Ambrosiano Tennis Club is delighted to announce that registration is now open for the 5th edition of the MENEGHIN, the long-standing social, non-competitive open event reserved for our members.
Whether you are an experienced player or a member keen to have fun and expand your sporting network within the Club, the MENEGHIN is the perfect opportunity to compete on our courts, keeping alive the spirit of the gentlemen’s agreement and pure amateur competition.
How the competition works
The competition is divided into two main phases:
The Race (from 1 November 2026 to 28 March 2027): the virtual group stage during which members organise their own matches independently. During the Race, the best 21 results accumulated count, with players facing the same opponent a maximum of four times. The rankings are updated and published every Monday in the official WhatsApp group.
The Final Master (17 and 18 April 2027): the top 8 players in the rankings at the end of the Race will qualify for the knockout draw that will crown the season’s winner.
Match format and scoring
To facilitate the organisation of matches between members, there are two match formats: best of three sets within two consecutive hours, with a killer point at the second advantage and a 10-point super tie-break for the third set.
2–0 victory: 60 points to the winner, 0 to the loser.
2–1 victory: 50 points to the winner, 20 to the loser.
2 sets out of 3 played over 2 non-consecutive hours (1h + 1h): the second hour must be made up within 15 days.
2-0 win: 50 points to the winner, 0 to the loser.
2-1 win: 40 points to the winner, 10 to the loser.
To ensure sporting fairness, the points awarded are re-proportioned according to the initial ranking gap between the two contenders.
How to register and take part
Players from the previous edition: you have been added directly to the ‘MENEGHIN 5th edition’ WhatsApp coordination group. If you do not wish to take part, you may simply leave the group.
New entrants and members without a ranking: to ensure a smooth inclusion in the starting ranking on 1 November, registration is completed by joining the group. Once you have joined, to finalise your participation, you must send a message stating: First name, Surname and Mobile number (with WhatsApp active).
Participation in MENEGHIN is completely free for TCA members.
